“Promise Yourself

To be so strong that nothing
can disturb your peace of mind.
To talk health, happiness, and prosperity
to every person you meet.

To make all your friends feel
that there is something in them
To look at the sunny side of everything
and make your optimism come true.

To think only the best, to work only for the best,
and to expect only the best.
To be just as enthusiastic about the success of others
as you are about your own.

To forget the mistakes of the past
and press on to the greater achievements of the future.
To wear a cheerful countenance at all times
and give every living creature you meet a smile.

To give so much time to the improvement of yourself
that you have no time to criticize others.
To be too large for worry, too noble for anger, too strong for fear,
and too happy to permit the presence of trouble.

To think well of yourself and to proclaim this fact to the world,
not in loud words but great deeds.
To live in faith that the whole world is on your side
so long as you are true to the best that is in you.”

IRREVERSIBLE HOLIDAY PARTY meet and greet the artists:

Mariano Costa Peuser (Arg)

Antonio Guerrero & Mariano Costa Peuser …LOL no comments….
In the Anti Art-Man series Mariano Costa Peuser questions the system of art from its very heart, probing “the absurd world of art”, with its games of power and legitimization. Adopting two elements, an empty frame and the iconic articulated wooden mannequin used as a model by artists through the centuries as an ironic symbol of Everyman which Anti Art Man parodies by showing the acrobatics and juggling acts that an artist “should” engage in to insert himself in the world of art. In Peuser’s images the wooden mannequins interact with empty picture frames representing the commercial aspect of the art market. The artist synthesizes them perfectly, applying unrestricted imagination in the creation of something new that arms and disarms itself in pursuit of its objective: critiquing art as illusion.

Performance dressed as a modern day Marie Antoinette….

Lucinda Linderman, born in Chattanooga, has been a full time artist with works exhibited in juried shows since 2001. After graduating with a B.A. in biology, she decided to pursue her dream of becoming and artist. She worked as a master apprentice to world renowned constructivist sculptor John Henry from 2001 until 2006, where both her aesthetic sense and technical skills were honed. Lucinda recently graduated from the University of Miami with a MFA in sculpture. Among several prestigious residencies, Linderman was the Robert M. Macnamara artist-in-residence in Westport Island, Maine, in 2005. Lucinda was an artist-in-residence at the CANDO Arts Co-op from 2009 to 2011, where she was the director of Sol Gallery during 2011. She is currently creating and Eco-Art Outreach Program at the Deering Estate at Cutler, in Miami.

“Deja Tu Huella” (Col)

The term “butterfly effect” itself is related to the 1960’s work of Meteorologist and Mathematician Edward Lorenz. Based in the Chaos Theory, small variations of the initial condition of a dynamical system may produce large variations in the long term behavior of the system. My proposal through this work is not scientific or meteorological. It’s emotional.  If the “dynamical system” were to be a person, then the behavior of people certainly would depend on the behavior of others.

We are emotionallty marked for life in many ways, especially by other people’s actions and behaviors. Who we are is made up of all those marks –or “prints”– that we accumulate through time. Deja tu Huella is my invitation for people to be conscious about those prints that others have left in their lives, and vice-versa. Through a series of interactive performances, I am giving out my prints, gathering material for mixed media, collages and videos. Deja tu Huella attempts to show how people, regardless of the intentions of their actions, have a butterfly effect on other people’s lives, which trascends cultures and generations. Edward Lorenz, didn’t know it, but he left a print on me.

The unifying similarity among geniuses and innovators is not cognitive or affective but motivational. What is common among them is the unwillingness or inability to strive for goals everyone else accepts.”
