Metronic board shake-up, four new directors in, executive vice-chairman resigns

PETALING JAYA: Two shareholders, who own more than 10% ofMetronic Global Bhd, seem to have almost succeeded in their quest to remove four directors and appoint four new ones to the board.

Metronic announced to Bursa Malaysia that it had appointed four new directors, who were sought by the two, to the board of the company, which is set to hold an EGM over the matter on Friday.

Executive vice-chairman Datuk Abd Gani Yusof, one of four that the two shareholders Liew Chee How and Tan Lian Hong wanted to remove as director, had told StarBiz by phone yesterday that he had tendered his resignation.

“I am out of the company now as I have resigned from today (yesterday),” Abd Gani said, declining to elaborate.

In a filing with Bursa later, Metronic said Abd Gani had resigned due to “other business commitments”.

He, however, is a substantial shareholder, holding about 10.71% stake in Metronic. Via
